Dear Guide and dear Driver, Dear Khmer Angkor Tour Guide Association, For the wonderful time we had in Angkor we want to thank you once more. It all started the evening of the 24th of october at 6 pm in the Sojourn Boutique Villas Hotel with the excellent general outline of the guided tours the next two days and with the agreements we made at that moment. And then we started at 7.30 the next morning with the guided tours. With his knowledge, his language and his patience our very well informed guide made us understand a lot of the art and the history of the Khmer people. There was always time to answer questions or to wait for us during lunch break or our visit to the museum. Our skillful driver knew all the little problems of the road, had always an extra bottle of cold water available, was not afraid of a bit of mud or a bg puddle in the middle of the road and when we went to the traditional dance evening in the centre of Siem Reap, he waited patiently till the performance was finished to take us back to our hotel. Our greatest experience in Cambodia was the human experience with polite, kind and modest people who are always ready to help. In that sense we can respect the Cambodians as marvelous people with a much higher level of civilization than the western world, if we are ready to consider civilization as human quality. Our great time in Cambodia is indeed also the result of the guide and the driver we had. They deserve to be praised as ambassadors of their country. We wish Cambodia well, we wish the very good Tour Guide Association all the best and we finally want to stress once more that the 25th and 26th of October 2011 will remain for ever among the best days we have had.
